L'installation ‘On Framing Textile Ambiguities’ est le résultat d'une enquête critique sur les développements sociaux et techniques qui ont conduit à la situation technologique locale actuelle. Au-delà d'une métaphore du cadre théorique des ‘Situated Knowledges’ de Donna Haraway, le fil qui traverse l'installation rappelle l'histoire des médias de communication numériques et des arts informatiques, en mettant l'accent sur l'interconnexion avec l'histoire de la production textile. Chaque machine est construite autour d'un cadre avec un encodage différent, à travers lequel un même fil se déroule.
The installation 'On Framing Textile Ambiguities’ is the output of a critical investigation on social and technical developments that led to the current local technological situation. Beyond being a metaphor for the theoretical framework of Donna Haraway's ‘Situated Knowledges’, the thread that wanders through the installation reminds of the history of digital communication media and computer arts with an emphasis on the interconnectedness with the history of textile production. Each machine is build around a frame with different encoding, through which a same thread is running.
